Lisabelle, Lucien

Lucien discovered photography in 1975. Collège Ahuntsic evening courses allowed him to learn the technique and framing rules essential to the control of this fascinating medium. The composition of the image has always been important for Lucien; it must be balanced.

Montreal resident during the week and nature lover on weekends; he was influenced in his artwork both by graphic and geometric city compositions as well as nature with its softness and sensuality.

In 1991, his career took a new tangent; Lucien discovered aerial photography. Gone from Mascouche airport to carry out aerial photographs for a real estate developer, he was fascinated by the geometric figures formed by fields, forests and streams that he could see below his eyes. This was a homecoming, a return to the fascination that these forms created on him from his early career.

As of this moment, Lucien decided that he should devote himself to this photographic genre. Different themes have emerged for themselves: fields, trees, rivers, ice, urban areas, etc... In March 2013, Lucien has visited Iceland where he completed his last aerial works. He overflew the region of the Florida Everglades, the Rockies in British Colombia and much of Québec.

Loto-Québec Collection owns 14 of his aerial photographs and he is part of many private collections in Quebec.

Lucien prints his pictures in his studio located in the lower Laurentians. He thus keeps the control over the quality of the prints. He uses a HP Z3200 printer that is renowned for the quality and durability of its quality archive inks.
