Pierre Otis (1963 – )Pierre Otis, born December 2, 1963 in Ile Bizard, a large island northwest of the urban agglomeration of Montreal, is a Quebecer painter known for his abstract paintings of circular shapes. Close to the New York Abstract Expressionists, this Montreal artist has accumulated, since the mid-1980s, several solo exhibitions across Quebec. He painted three decades in a sustained manner. In his work, we find organic forms, blues, greens, reds, yellows interwoven; shapes approximating the plant world. There are paintings in the artwork collection of the National Fine Arts Museum of Quebec, in galleries and private institutions in Quebec. The Artothèque de Montréal, for example, has a selection of his paintings since 1998.
