Paniagua, Luis

Sculptor, born in Salamanca, Spain in 1950, a canadian and spanish citizen. Mainly self-taught, Luis carves stone since his childhood. He learns in the Parisian studio of Pierre Nègre and participates in the opening of a community art studio. He traveled throughout the world by making his artistic education. In 1975, he immigrated to Quebec and settled in the Laurentians to live and work there.

Luis has participated in several exhibitions since 1980. He has been involved on the boards of Directors of the Mont-Tremblant Artists and the Maison des Arts et de la Culture St-Faustin. He is a member of the Conseil de la Sculpture du Québec since 1981. He also gives sculpture courses for the Commission Scolaire des Laurentides in Mont-Tremblant.

He made several monumental sculptures of wood, stone, steel and concrete.
